Hi everyone and Happy Thursday! Yesterday I didn’t get a post up, but I was creative the whole day…it’s just stuff I can’t show you yet! That’s the worst for me, because I like to share all my creative stuff with you guys!
Anyway…today I have a sneak peek from the PBD release.
I am sneaking the stamp set “Life with you is…”
For this card I used the NEW DCWV 6×6 Birthday Wishes Stack. These 6×6 stacks are perfect for card makers! And the colors in here are so fun & bright!
To make the sunburst at the bottom of the card, I cut a section of scrap paper as big as the space that I wanted to cover. Then I drew the sunburst onto the scrap paper. Cut apart the pieces and used them as a template to cut my patterned paper. Sounds complicated, but it gets easier…and it is definitely easier than trying to figure out some mathematic equation 😉
I added some ribbon from American Crafts, and the sentiment–and that was it. Easy Peasy and pretty!
Also, while I was in my craft room playing with my new 6×6- I decided to find a new storage space for them. This Thirty One rectangle came in handy–and fit all of my 6×6 stacks.
And, it left me these 3 baskets to store more PBD stamps in!! YAY!!
How do you store your 6×6 stacks? Or do you stick to 12×12?
I still haven’t tried a sunburst card yet, but I absolutely LOVE how it looks! It looks like a great way to use scraps.
I still only have 12×12 paper (not even much cardstock) to use for layering. I know that if I buy nice cardstock, I will be afraid to cut into it! I have always eyed 6×6 though especially the birthday stacks because of their bright colors and present/candle/cake prints.
Love the card…and great tip on the Sunburst! I’m going to have to do this! Can’t wait for the release! And now when I get home tonight, I’m going to have to use a rectangle like this for my 6X6’s! Great idea!
I have both 6×6 and 12×12 (and some 8×8) My 12×12 papers/cardstock are stored in the clear stand up trolley (from Sterilite?) I have yet to find a good place for my 6×6 and 8×8….but like this idea. Thanks.
Adorable card. Great idea on a template! I want that mini stack 🙂
I store my 6×6 pads in a metal basket will need another one soon 😀
Can’t wait for the release and the new stamp of the month!
Hi Sarah!!! Hope you are feeling good!! My ‘nephew’ must be getting big in there!! LOL…I store my 6X6’s anywhere! I actually had a video store go out of biz a couple years ago. The end cap shelving they had were $20 a piece and huge! 4 clear shelves in all. I bought 3. Anyways..they stand up on the shelves, and then I had put some of already made cards in it..but…cat hair/dog hair got to ’em and well…have to tear them apart..recycling! And throw the rest out!! I lvoe 6X6’s as I only do cards!! Great idea with like a ‘template’ on copy paper…then I wouldnt waste…mess up paper!! Thanks Sarah!! xo
I store my 6 x 6 with my 8 1/2 x 11 paper. I can get to them easy that way. Where do you get this cute 6 x 6 stack??? LOVE your card with it! Thanks for sharing 🙂 Kathi
Just love that sunbust and so glad you told us how to make one! Hope you and “baby” are doing well!
I need something for my 6×6 – they are just in a pile and it is sad! they are so pretty they should all be on the wall but I don’t think that is very practical! I love 6×6 and pretty much buy just those now – so thanks for the inspiration to get them organized!
Have a great day!
Great card!
Love my 12×12″ paper. I also hate looking through stacks and stacks so storing is always a problem. Love your birthday card and can’t wait to pick up that stack!
Such a cute and fun card. Thanks for the great tip.
Have a great day.
