Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday! I spent some time in my craft room yesterday– mostly tidying up and going through 4 boxes of stuff I hadn’t gone through yet! OOpS! I got most of it put away and I linked my Create a Critter 2 cartridge finally to Cricut Craft Room & my Gypsy.
You can link up a cartridge to both, as long as you link it to CCR first. Then when you sync your Gypsy with the Cricut Sync- it automatically goes onto your gypsy. Easy Peasy!
So…anyway, I needed to get some ideas of what to do for the kids for Valentines to hand out to their friends. I picked up these cute heart mazes from Oriental Trading (who happens to have free shipping right now) & although their shipping says 2 weeks- I got everything in just a few days!
And my little mister wanted to hand out Fun Dip– so I thought I’d work something out to make those a bit cuter. I think they may be TOO cute and not boyish enough, so I may try again today!
The stack I used for the projects is one of my favorite DCWV new releases, the Delightful Stack. You can find this stack along with a bunch of other beautiful ones at Joann’s. I am not usually a purple girl, but this stack is just so pretty!
To make this Valentine’s Card, I cut a 4.5 x 2 3/4 patterned paper, and corner rounded 2 of the corners. I made a smaller mat for stamping on the inside. Then stamped the sentiment using Vintage Holidays & Enjoy the Journey from Pink by Design.
Then I just used a removable glue dot to adhere the maze to the card- so the kids could easily pull them off and play with them.
Next up was the Fun Dip pouch… I used a 3.5 x 6 inch strip of patterned paper, and folded in half leaving .5 inch to spare so I could fold it over and adhere to the back. I adhered the bottom but you could also staple this if you wanted. I then punch 2 holes in the top front layer to lace ribbon through. I added a tag using Artisan Tags 2 and slipped in the Fun Dip.
They’re just a teensy bit on the girly side– so I think I might have to think of something else or at least change the colors if my son is going to be happy about passing them out 😉
So, what do you think? Are you hand-making Valentines for your littlest Valentine to pass out this year?
Love your cute Valentines… I have been making them too but for my friends… my valentines are teens now and don’t want them anymore! Try checking out the elmo heads that Sheila at She’s a Sassy lady made… super cute and easy and more boyish. Change the theme but try the idea… perfect for dipping with! Kathi
