Hi everyone and Happy Thursday! I have to tell you that since, I’ve started playing with the Cricut Artiste cartridge- I can’t stop! It’s made me fall in love with my Cricut all over again! And, isn’t it nice to see more Cricut projects on my little blog? Remember the cute rainbow card set I made with magazine holder, or how about that gorgeous and intricate Card, or the Halloween Treat box?
Well, this little project I am about to show you seriously took me 10-15 minutes to make. With the easy to read booklets that come with this cartridge, cutting everything out and putting it together is a snap! This is saying something because I am used to using my gypsy.
Ready for the project? I decided to make the popcorn box, because who doesn’t love a popcorn box? And, you don’t have to put popcorn in it either- you could put candy in it, cookies, or even socks! 🙂 Anything is more fun in a popcorn box!
I wanted to use the ‘Thanks, Toots!’ sentiment from the Sweet Grams 2 stamp set– so I cut out the coordinating Cricut shape that comes with the popcorn box, and stamped it with Cranberry ink. I added a strip of yellow ribbon to the back, and then filled ‘er up with tootsie rolls!
The popcorn box cuts out as one piece- or one color and the booklet tells you to cut it out at 4 inches. This is what it looks like with just one color.
As I was putting it together, I wanted my box to have the traditional stripes- So I cut out an identical box in white cardstock. Then, I lined up the scallops on my paper cutter, making sure it was straight, and cut straight down. Then I just trimmed off the bottom, and glued the stripes onto the box, every other scallop. 🙂 It was super easy! So, think about all the different color stripes you could do! You could even do them in your sports team colors!
I think it turned out pretty cute!!
