This past weekend was my birthday- and I was lucky enough to spend the day with some of my favorite people at the Scrapbook Page in Kansas City showing off some Pink by Design Stamps! It was a fun day, and I was happy to meet all the wonderful people who came out to paper craft with us!
That’s me in the jean jacket- 🙂 We did our Make and Take from 11-4 and we were pretty much full the whole time 🙂
This is me with Elizabeth, Jessica and Bryan. I have to admit the ladies seemed to like crafting with Bryan and Mr. Pink the most! 🙂 We also went to Archivers and out to dinner afterward- it was a lovely weekend!
Also- I wanted to share a sewing and Cameo project I did for Alexis, that some of you may have seen on my Facebook page.
I bought a tshirt and long shorts at Walmart for around $6 altogether- and then I bought the fabric at Walmart as well for $2. I ironed on interfacing and cut out the cute heart peace shape. It cut perfectly- then I ironed it on the tshirt- NO SEWING!! YAY!
Then, I wanted to ‘decorate’ the bottoms- so I made ruffles for the first time ever in my life I folded them and sewed a seam, then I ran another stitch line – then taking one of the strings and cinching the fabric while pulling the string- to form the ruffle. Then I sewed the ends together making a circle, and positioned it around the legs of the shorts- pinning it in place. I stitched the ruffle with the shorts inside out. I realized I need a lot of practice on this– but, since it was my first sewing project- DONE was better than PERFECT. And…Alexis LOVED the outfit- and was so proud to wear it to school on Friday, telling all of her friends that I made it. I am pretty sure her friends think I am magic- I’ll take it too, because I know when they are a bit older it won’t be as cool that I try to ‘make’ everything! 🙂
SO cute… Adorable.
