Father Daughter Dance Layout

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! (almost, anyway!)

Hope everyone had a joyful weekend- and that you were able to sneak in a little rest and relaxation!  It seems here that most weekends are busier than the weekdays!  But, this weekend- we took it nice & easy.

Today I want to share a 2-page layout I created using my Cricut, Gypsy, and My Mind’s Eye Be Happy Follow Your Heart Collection- I love both Follow Your Heart collections- one with turquoise shades and one with coral shades….so pretty!

I really had fun playing with the hexagon shapes on this paper- and adding fun embellishments! (Since I took this picture, I added a pressed flower from her corsage to the left hand page)

The “2012” and the “Father Daughter Dance” were all cut using my Cricut and Gypsy.

I added a chipboard butterfly button, pearl stick pin and twine to the lace that runs across the bottom of the layout.

i used coral pearls to accent both pages…   I also used the hexagons to add journaling/stamping.

I made a darling, little chipboard banner with twine and chipboard pieces that were in an embellishment pack.

I took advantage of the hexagons by adding journaling- and popping certain hexagons up with pop-dots.

A closeup of the lace- and the stamped sentiment from Pink by Design To the Moon stamp set and Close to my Heart Juniper ink.

I love how the layout turned out- and it reminded me of how much I love creating double page layouts!  So, time to stop collecting paper and using it up like crazy!!  Who’s with me?!

  • Love it! I’m with you, more 12×12 layouts. Ever since I started a blog I found myself doing more and more cards and projects. I am trying to get back to doing more layouts since that’s my true passion. Plus, I need to stop collection and start using my stash too!

  • Ha, I’m the same way. See the paper & gotta have it. I have a huge stash, need to get going on layouts again, been making cards for a while now. I usually do 2 page layouts because I have a lot of pics I want to use. Cute layout Sarah! 🙂

  • Yesterday after making 3 cards, I’m like ok, time for a layout. But by then it was time to start dinner. Next time though. Loved your layout. The corsage was a nice touch. I bet she felted so special.

  • Very pretty LO, I love the hexagons that you layered some. the paper is pretty also, but not prettier than the subjects in the photo…

  • Such a pretty LO! Love the use of hexagons! I need to use my papers for LO’s too. I haven’t done a LO in years. I always seem to have a card or many projects to make and never get to it.

  • Sooo adorable!! She looks really happy!! Yes lets use up some of this paper,, so we don’t feel guilty for buying MORE!!! lol
