Hi everyone and Happy Friday!!
First, before I forget- I want to remind you that today is Pink by Design Fan Flash Friday–where you post a fun project you’ve done on the Pink by Design Facebook wall–after I have. Then, I will pick a winner out of the people who have posted projects! You don’t have to use a Pink by Design stamp, you just have to post a fun project you’ve made! So, be sure to get over there and do that…because today’s winner will get the Everyday Cricut Cartridge!! Woohoo!
Okay…now onto my project!
Remember those BE-A-U-tiful flowers I posted pictures of after CHA from then Glitz booth?
Well, I found out that these are an origami flower called a Kusodama Flower–and I just had to try it…and of course make a video for you!!
Now, mine do not look anywhere near as beautiful–and mine are much smaller than these…but, I loved learning how to do them…and now I might just be addicted!!
In total I needed 5-6 petals to make a flower…and then I needed 12 flowers to make my Kusudama ball. Which means there’s quite a bit of folding :). I used 4×4 inch squares.
Here is my finished Kusudama Ball using SEI paper mostly, and some Bo Bunny 🙂
Wow!!! Those are really stunning. I’ll have to give them a try.
those are pretty…may have to try them…it is on my list now
These flowers are beautiful. I would love to make a bunch of these and then decorate a Christmas tree with them because they remind me of Christmas Balls. I don’t know could be me….lol….either way they are beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing.
I have seen these done before and thought they were cool. Thanks for the reminder a of how to do them. May have to try them this weekend.
for those who don’t have the cutter, what sizes are the sqaures that you start with?
They’re 4×4 inch 🙂
thanks Rachel

I have been thinking about the Dreamkuts machine for the longest time after doing research on the Bind-It-All. Haven’t made my decision yet!
Thanks for the tutorial! I used to do a lot of origami as a kid, but it looks like it’d be so much sharper and neater with a bone folder!
Super cool! Really easy and really fun! Love it. Thanks! made one while i watched your video (well, one petal – lol).
I’ve been thinking that I need a new Christmas ball… 🙂

So pretty! I will have to add them to my to-do list! Thanks for the video! BTW – I love your machine!

Wow! I love this project. I have to admit, I could not wait to get off work to try making one, so I cut a plan piece of paper to 4 x 4 and made one. It was easy. *blushing* Yes, I have a paper trimmer and adhesives at work…you never know when I will find some free time.
Very pretty!!
Thanks for the tutorial These are beautiful will definitely be on my to do list.
Those are so cute! I already tried making one of my own. It is gold on both sides of the paper. I thought they might be cute for a wedding. I am curious though, how do you connect them all in one big flower ball?
These are beautiful! We’re planning the decorations for my daughter’s sweet 16 next month and I think one of these would be pretty to include. I’m adding it to our “to do” list, let’s hope we have time to make everything. Thanks for the tutorial!
These are BEAUTIFUL and thanks for the tutorial! 🙂
The flowers are stunning!! What an amazing piece of decor! Thanks for the great video Sarah!
Hugs,
Tracey
