I am so excited to be in this fun and fabulous hop– I love the look of Explosion Boxes- but, I have NEVER tried one before!
Crazy, huh?
So, when Zeni and Erika asked me to be in this hop– I couldn’t say no! ย ๐ ย She even lined up some great sponsors for the hop which I will tell you a bit more about later.
First let’s look at some pictures of the Explosion Box I made– Like all things, I decided to dive right in, and start off with an Octagon Explosion Box…even though I had never even made a square explosion box before!
I knew right away that I wanted some fireworks “shooting” out of the bottom of the box! I made the fireworks by punching out 1.5 inch circles, cutting out a pie shape from the circle and forming the cone shape and adhering it together- I made the bottom of the firework using adhesive and rolling paper up tightly onto itself. ย Then using a pop dot, I stuck the cylinder into the cone shape.
The star they are standing on, is also on an action-wobble to give it some movement when the box is opened.
Here is a ‘from the top’ shot of the opened explosion box- Being an octagon, there were a lot of little squares to decorate!
That’s okay, though– because this will make the perfect centerpiece to a 4th of July table!
Here are some close up shots of the box.
All of the stamped sentiments come from the Pink by Design, Red, White & Blue stamp set!
All of the paper is from the Bo Bunny Liberty line.
I loved adding buttons, ribbon and flowers- though you have to be careful adding too many- because you still want your box to close up! ๐
There’s even a tag and pocket included in the explosion box– gotta love that!
One more shot of those fun fireworks coming out of the middle!
Here’s the box all closed up and ready to give someone ๐
Guess what else- for everyone hopping today- I have a FREE SVG to use to make a similar explosion box for yourself!
Click the Download Button to Download the Free Octagon Explosion Box SVG
I will also be choosing one lucky Pink Cricut friend to win the Independence Day Cricut Cartridge!
Just leave a comment below!
