Today we are celebrating a very special Birthday—
It is Meriah’s birthday- and we are celebrating by not only making her pretty things… but, by debuting her new scrapbooking blog!
Meriah used to be one of the bloggers behind Two Scraptastic Gals, but has decided to move to her own little space on the web– called Tattered Time!
Well– the three of us TRIED to surprise Meriah…but, it isn’t as BIG of a surprise as it was planned to be!
Meriah happened upon her own blog when she went into her WordPress account one day– and saw that something was up. She confronted us about it–on a skype call, where there was nowhere to hide! Let me tell you–Paula cannot hide a guilty face–and I just start giggling….so, it was obvious something was up!
Anyway, Meriah then, shared her choice of background and header- and gave us pointers on what needed to be where 😉 (Thanks Meriah for helping us make the surprise so much more perfect!)
Okay, okay!– before I show you my little project I made for Meriah– I wanted to share this quick Birthday Message 🙂
Happy Birthday dear, sweet Meriah! You are truly and amazing and talented lady and I am so lucky to have you as a friend!
Okay-for today’s project- I did something a little different– I created a bracelet for Meriah using things I would normally use in papercrafting!
To make this bracelet- I used a pre-made bracelet with wells to embellish. I then embellished the little wells with little round letter stickers. I was going to stamp the letters- but, when these fit perfectly, and had that vintage look–I knew I had to use them!
I then decorated the end pieces with buttons and pearls.
To keep the pieces in the bracelet- I used a quick-dry resin- that is called Magic-Glos
It is similar to an epoxy, but much simpler to use- and so quick to set-up as long as the sun is shining. You just apply it generously to the wells- and then sit it out in the sun. It sets up and hardens (much harder than glossy accents, I know because I tried that first!) within minutes in DIRECT sunlight. Sitting it inside near a window will not work. (I tried that too!)
This gave it a really cool, domed look– shiny and pretty too!
Here is a side-view:
I recommend picking up a little bottle of this– if you are interested in making fun jewelry pieces- it’s 9.99 a bottle, so use a coupon!
With her bracelet, I also made a birthday card– for inspiration I used the Pink by Design Messageboard Sketch Challenge
I used Spellbinders Lacey Squares, and the image is Graphic 45, the ribbon is from Meriah’s own hand-dyed collection, and the stamp is from Pink by Design Vintage Greetings
Okay–of COURSE there is Blog Candy–
but you have to go over to Tattered Time to enter for it! 🙂
