Happy Tuesday! 🙂
Today, I am working with the “Our Troops,” stamp set- for Stamptastic Tuesday!
I love this stamp set, and I wanted to be sure you all knew that this stamp set, along with the others doesn’t only have to be used on cards–but, it can be used on layouts as well! 🙂
I recently had several pictures printed- and, along with the pictures of my kids- I also printed off pictures from my childhood and my family history. A few years ago, my parents house was in the Cedar Rapids Flooding–and they lost everything in their home- including all of our pictures.
Luckily, aunts/uncles have scrounged up photos that they had-and though they are few and far between-they are just cherished that much more.
Anyway- I came across these pictures of my grandparents- and I couldn’t wait to get them into a layout! 🙂
These are my grandparents on my mom’s side- My grandma is still with us, but my grandpa passed away in 2004. He was a great man, and I miss him. I wish that he would have gotten to meet my children, and I know they would have loved him.
Though, we didn’t spend every weekend or summer with our grandparents, I can still remember the smell of his cologne mixed with the coffee he drank. I can still feel his whiskers scraping my face when he hugged me, I can still hear his voice. But, most of all I can remember the smile he gave, that let you know he couldn’t be happier seeing anyone else in that very moment.
Luckily, I see a lot of my grandpa in my own mom–so, I know my kids are blessed to have her in their lives.
This picture in the layout, was taken with my camera- as I was sitting on the porch watching my kids play in the front yard. I aimed the camera up at the flag on our house–and gave it a vintage-y look.
I used Bo Bunny Mama-razzi and Basic Grey papers. I also used the DCWV Tattered Time for the solid colors.
I loved adding the small picture of my grandma- I imagine it would be the one he’d have of her, while he was in Germany.
If you haven’t checked out the Pink by Design Blog today–check it out–and be sure to say HI on the messageboard! 🙂
