Happy Wednesday!! Today’s Guest Designer is Mandie!
Hey, everyone! I’m so excited to be a guest designer here on the Pink Cricut blog! I’m Mandie and my blog is Mandie’s Scrappin’ (http://mandiesscrappin.blogspot.com). I’ve been married to my best friend, Rob for almost 10 years. We have two adorable little girls, Penny, 5, and Evie Lynn, 23 months. We also have 3 fur babies, and Australian Sheppard, Kobe and two lazy cats, Tikki and Ally.
I have always loved being crafty but 5 years ago my aunt gave me some basic scrapbooking supplies at my baby shower. I developed a set of photos when my daughter was just a few weeks old and I was hooked! I can never do anything small (at least according to my husband) so I quickly outgrew my Rubbermaid Tote and then my dining room so my hubby built me a room in the basement… for some reason he put a kid’s play room down there too…. I think he’s secretly plotting to keep the rest of the house clean buy putting us messy girls in the basement, LOL! I am super lucky to be not only a member but head of the Cutters Creek Design Team (http://www.cutterscreekdesignteam.blogspot.com/). I’m also a Cricut addict and member of the Cricut Circle!
For today’s project Sarah sent me the beautiful Sympathy set to work with. I have the HARDEST time creating sympathy cards. I like to be “fun” in my creating but I think it is good to go outside of your comfort zone occasionally! Funny thing is, when I got the set in the mail I knew I had the perfect stamp to compliment it! I got the praying hands stamp at CHA as a giveaway from a new stamp company called La Blanche. Once I had the sentiment and image stamp I just had to grab a pretty sheet of paper and make this simple, yet elegant card. In real life the plaid isn’t quite so orange. I used a parchment type paper to stamp the sentiment and hands on to and then just trimmed them with my paper cutter. I inked the edges of all of my layers. Finally I added a champagne colored satin ribbon for a little extra texture.
I also wanted to share a couple of my “fun” cards too! I used the Country Living set for all three of these cards! It’s got so many fun phrases on it!
For the Hog’s N Kisses card I used my Cricut to cut the adorable piggy from the Create a Critter cartridge. The beautiful patterned paper is from Echo Park! I punched the edges with a Fiskars punch and stamped the “XOXO” also from the Country Living set! I added a little extra bling to her bow with my i-rock tool.
To make my Thinking of Ewe card, I again used the Create a Critter Cricut aartridge to cut the adorable lamb. I embossed the white layer with my Cuttlebug D’Vine Swirls folder. My patterned paper on this card is from Imaginisce and I also used the i-rock again to add some gems. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and a piece of pink satin ribbon for some additional texture.
Finally I want to share my SMOOches card. Bet you can’t guess which Cricut cartridge I used to cut the cow…. I’ve had this paper is my stash FOREVER and I love how it looks on my card! I inked all of my edges and added some pom-pom trim for good measure!
Thanks for checking out my cards, and please stop by my blog! I’m giving away a Scrap’n Tote Cricut cartridge storage binder. They are fabulous!!! Just look for the link to that post at the very top of my blog!
I know how the addiction works! I’m lucky to have moved 2 1/2 years ago to a house that has a room I can use as a craft room. I’m currently stripping wallpaper so I can decorate it to be the craft room of my dreams! The sympathy card is very nice and the animal cards are really cute, especially the cow one!
Awesome job Mandie! Keep up the good work!
Wonderful cards!! Love the glammed up pig…and the smoochin’ cow…isn’t Create A Critter the best?? TFS!
I like the sympathy card you made. We never like to think about making them but I found myself in need of two of them in the past few weeks. Love the stamp you used and will have to get it.
What a beautiful sympathy card.

An absolutely beautiful sympathy card. Your fun cards are oh so cute too.
Love your cards! I totally understand the addiction. I have scrappin supplies on our front porch and in our living room. I’m currently unemployed & have moved some of the supplies in the living room so I can “work” and be with our 3 3/4 year old son. I think my husband is ready to kick me out cause of the mess, lol! So I’m with you on the addiction.
Your sympathy card is beautiful! For me they are the hardest card to create. . . I really need to get the Create A Critter cart – the cuts are adorable!
Beautiful sympathy card! And I love your critter cards…so cute!!! I love that cart too!
