Another Challenge

See– I am on a roll with these challenges this week πŸ˜‰

This time I did the challenge over at Erin Lee Creative, who teamed up with Angelica Suarez at Handmade by Angelica for a Music Monday Challenge.

This is a fun, new twist on challenges–letting music be the inspiration. Β πŸ™‚

(ps. I am teaming up with Erin on something really fun too– but not til next month)

So….the song for this week is You Are the Best Thing by Ray Lamontagne, and the challenge is to make something for someone who is the best thing in your life….

Well I have a lot of wonderful things in my life–but, of all the things in my life–I’d have to say my 2 beautiful children are at the top of the list!

Alexis who is 5, is my shining star. Β She is a smart, funny and sweet girl– I love her to pieces- and she amazes me with the way she sees and understands the world around her. Β She is full of grace and love- and is always thinking of others– I am so proud to be her mom.

Jaxen who is 3–almost 4, is my sunshine–he lights up a room with his smile and his charm. Β He has the biggest heart, and is one of the best snugglers. Β He is always willing to help, and is notorious for eating all the yogurt he can get his hands on. Β He brings excitement to every single day!

I love them both so very much!

So this card is for my babies- because they love band-aids, and we often go through a new box every month. Β After seeing them use them for every little spot — I decided to only buy the boring ol’ tan ones –which they were NOT happy about! Β (Fortunately, for them–grandma sent them character band-aids right away–when she heard about this)

Anyway– we often sing the “stuck on band-aid brand, cause band-aid stuck on me, ” song around here–and I knew that they would love and get the humor of this card! They also both LOVE peachy keen stamps– so, I had to add one! Oh, and Jaxen insisted I add tiny dots to the strips of the bandaid….and to make it even more fun, I put an action wobble under the bandaid πŸ™‚

  • How cute is this!!! I love this card! My 4yr and 3yr old go thru bandaids quite quickly too. Even if there isn’t a true boo boo. lol

  • what a great picture of the kids & a wonderful card to match. i think all kids love band aids. my friend’s son (who was 2 at the time) snuck into the closet & took all the hello kitty band aids & put them all over himself & proudly showed my friend what a wonderful job he did. it was classic. i usually have my “seriously i do have a boo-boo” stash which are the colored band aids & the “i bumped myself & want a band aid to make it better.” stash.

  • Your children are absolutely beautiful! Reading your post brought tears to my eyes… they sure are lucky to have a mom love them so dearly. πŸ™‚ When you mentioned the band-aids, I truly laughed out loud. We went thru A LOT of band aids too, and I did the exact same thing…. went to the ol’ plain ones. For some reason after that… most boo boo’s somehow didn’t require a band aid anymore!! LOL! Of course, my 7 year old has discovered the school nurse and her teacher have the “good” kind, so she comes home with quite a few new band aids!! πŸ™‚ Love your card by the way… πŸ™‚

  • Your children are precious!!! My 4 yr old granddtr loves character band-aides also, my dtr. did the same thing, next time we went shopping at Walmart, Destine said Granny I need real band-aides, Mommy want buy any!!! LLL She went on to say the others don’t make her boo boo’s feel better,so she picked Princess & frog, we started down aisle & she said can I have another one in case of emergency!!! LLL My dtr wanted to kill me, how could I resist & say no to that precious little smiling face!!!LLL 2ond box Toy Story…..heeheeeeeeeeeeee for emergency stash!!! TFS Great card!!!

  • Awe Sarah your babies are just to cute. I think Jaxen nailed it with the little dots. Tell him I said job well done πŸ™‚ I have one out of the band-aid phase, and one about to enter. Im kinda looking forward to it again. Band-aids heal all πŸ™‚

  • What a cute card. Love the story behind it too. I remember when my daughter was that age. She was (and still is) so squeamish we had to keep even the tiniest of boo-boo’s covered. LOL

  • How cute is this Sarah?!?! I love the sentiment behind it – Lucy loves bandaids too!! heheh Your kids are beautiful, and they’re just as lucky to have such a loving mom like you! πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for linkin’ up in our Music Monday Challenge! I hope to see you back next week too!!! πŸ™‚ Angelica
