A fun Christmas gift and another Favorite Thing

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today, I hope to get some baking done!!

Yesterday I begun working on some of my gifts for neighbors and such –along with some more bows!  I just can’t get enough of those bows!

For those of you who don’t have a diecutter like the Cuttlebug or the Big Shot– you can also handcut or cricut cut several rectangles for the same effect.  The measurements are as follows:  5 or more each of these sizes:  5x.5 inch rectangles (1/4 inch of each end, being a triangle shape with a whole punched in it) 4.5x.5 inch, and 4x.5 inch.

Now onto the gifts I have been working on….these are simple and quick but so much fun–and sure to bring a smile to the recipient!

I am using these supplies to make little gifts for neighbors, the mail lady, teachers, etc.

any guesses on what I might be doing with this stuff?

We Whisk you a Merry Kiss-Mas

(now why didn’t I make a stamp that said that -lol )

Simple–but oh, so cute, right?  I made the tags and stamped them with the “To & From” from the Pink by Design Tags and Treats Stamp Set– and I have an instant gift to let someone know I was thinking of them during the holidays! 🙂

You can also wrap the bottom of the whisk in tightly pulled saran wrap– if the tines on the whisk seem to be too loose to keep the kisses in! 🙂

Now onto my next Favorite Thing!

The Cricut is one of my Favorite things–and learning the ins and outs of all of the whole Cricut line! 🙂

What better way to learn things like this–than thru a class or even a CRUISE!!

Speaking of Cruises–Cara Miller is hosting her first Cricut 4 Day Cruise thru the Bahamas from March 7-11 I don’t know about you–but, in March–I am more than ready for some sunshine! 🙂 Today is the last day to book that cruise for the group rate–so don’t miss out on that price–and maybe I will see you in the Bahamas! Click here for more infoNow, Cara also does ONLINE classes–and I have even done some designing for some of these online classes–they are a lot of fun!

She is giving away 1 online class of their choice to a lucky commenter!

So, be sure to check out the online classes that there are at My Creative Classroom, and tell me what class you’d be interested in taking or would want to see in the future! The classes last a month–and can be based on techniques and/or cartridge specific! 🙂

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I have been waiting for the cutting instructions for the BOW . . . I love it! I also love your Wisk Mery Kiss-mas.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you for posting the hand cutting dimensions Sarah – I will definitely be giving them a go now 🙂

Your whisk gift is so cool too and a perfect little extra to give someone on our list who has asked for a specific cookbook!!!

  • Super idea with the wisk! I would love to go on a cruise, but funds are low due to a child graduating high school and one that just started her first year of college. Thanks for the chance to win the class!

  • That is the cutest idea!! Thanks for sharing the measurements also! Can’t wait to play around with making some bows. : )

  • I would like the class with the in’s and out’s of artist trading cards. I’m also a watercolor artist and love scrapbooking. I like her grunge ideas also. Anything that looks like it has age on it really interests me. 🙂

  • any of the classes using a cartridge would be awesome to take. I know that I am not using my cartridges to their full potential. Also would love one on the Gypsy. still trying to figure out all of the ins and outs of that.

  • I love love love love love this idea. Sooooooooooooooo happy I got the stamp set on black friday:) Thank you!!!!!

  • Thanks so much for the measurements for the bow. I was going to try to figure it out myself, but you made it so much easier. Also I love the wisk’s with candy! Now that’s a very creative gift! Thanks so much for all the things I learn from you…and Merry Christmas Sarah! I’d love to go on a crafting cruise, but alas… yes I said alas with much drama… I would have to win an all expenses paid cruise to be able to go 😉 But even now, if I won than it would have to wait, because I have to take care of my mom who I can’t leave right now. So I’ll stay where I am, and keep on keeping on. Thanks again,
    Jessica

  • Not sure how you dream up these things, but this is just adorable. I am still smiling as I am posting this. Too cute and clever.

  • Thank you for publishing the dimensions of the bow! I almost had it figured out! I have a shape on a Cricut cartridge that will work (will post after work). I love the Whisk—may I scraplift that one? TFS! BTW your blog is one of my two favorites.

  • What an adorable idea for neighbors. Thanks for the bow dimensions. I would love to take a class on the Designer Calendar cart. I bought it thinking I would make my own calendars for gifts, etc and haven’t used it yet except for some of the icons.

  • I would love to craft and cruise. But I’ve wondered how do you get all your needed supplies on board.. Do you bring them all, or do you just take classes and enjoy the rest of the cruise like a no-craft person…

    • Hi Diane! My best advice is to pre plan what you would like to work on. On my Cricut Cruise, I will be providing all class projects and supplies. The list of what to bring is pretty short. Basically grab your Cricut, your bathing suit and your flip flops! (there are a few more things like scissors and adhesive LOL) Hugs, Cara

  • Cute project and love the pun tag with it. If I were to sign up for a class it would be January 18th Design Studio 1. I have been trying to find a good Blog where they design and show the Studio and how to use it. Thanks for showing your favorite things.

  • Love it! That would be an awesome sentiment for a stamp set. The class I could lilke to take would be the Rubber stamping techniques. I’d really like to get more into rubber stamping and this class would be a great kick start. TFS and a chance to win.

  • i WOULD lIKE cRICUT eXPRESSION 102, iVE BEEN PLAYING WITH THE eXPRESSION, BUT NEED MORE PRactice. I would really like a class about the gypsy, I lose all my work, ::shrug:: I have learned alot from you and some of the other gals, so thanks for being there. My husband is getting Design Studio for me for Christmas, Maybe that would be easier for me. LOL.

  • Love the gift idea and thanks for the bow measurements. I would love the gypsy class I am getting one for Christmas and can’t wait to play! Have a Merry Christmas!

  • I love the whisk gift idea! As for the classes I would choose to do the “Rubber Stamping 101” as I am just starting to jump into the stamping world. I would also take “Card Boot Camp” to get more ideas on how to make better cards. 🙂

  • This whisk is ADORABLE. I think I will be making this (along with some fudge 🙂 for the teachers and principal for Christmas this yr.

    TFS,
    Erin.

PS: I’m stealing the sentiment too it’s perfect. 🙂

  • What a cute idea Sara! AND yes you should have come up with a sentiment like that. Is Cara offering to pay for the cruise, cause if soooo…count me in!!! I soooo wish I could go, I sooo wish a lot of things, but the $ just isn’t there right now. Did you just get your RSS feed or have I missed it all along. This is much better to get e-mails when you post something, I’ve missed out on sooo much of your blog. Happy that I don’t have to now! 🙂

  • Love the whisk! I think I might steal that idea for teachers, co-workers, etc! As far as a scrapbooking class – I would love even just a general cricut class as I am still quite the novice! 🙂 Thanks, Sarah!

  • Hi Folks…thanks for your comments! I want to be sure you know that I can only offer a seat in my classes..all Cricut. So the winner will get to choose from my Cricut classes at My Creative Classroom. 🙂 Cara

  • O How cute is that.. I would love to see how to do the words making shadows I have a time trying to keep the cut out in the letters like the P and the O and the R..I want to Learn Shadowing and welding with words..♥♥♥
If I ever get well and get my Hubbie well O I want to go on one of those CRUSIES…
    Thanks for all you do..

  • Ilove the wisk, it will make cute gifts and so simple. I need to try out those bows, TFS. I’ve taken two classes with Cara and learned a bunch. I would like to take a class in Design Studio because I have limited ability when it comes to using it, other than the keyword feature.

  • Thank you for sharing, this is such a cute idea. I really wish people would stop talking about this cruise. I’m truly excited for everyone that gets to go but I get a little sad every time I read about it because I can’t go.

  • What a great gift idea! Thanks for sharing. I’d love the class on Design Studio. I manage to get projects done on mine, but I’m sure there are easier and maybe quicker ways to create with it. Thanks!

  • Wow! Great giveaway! I would love a class with the Gypsy in mind… with welding shadows and other little tricks, so I guess, if push came to shove, a Design Studio class would be ok, since it is “similar” to the Gypsy. Thanks!

  • Wow what a great idea with the whisk, I would never of thought to fill one up lol. Thanks for the measurements of the bow pieces. As for the classes it would have to be either a SCAL lesson or a design studio lesson, both of which I have but don’t use the their potential.

  • I love, love, love this idea with a wire whisk. I will use this idea for gifts this year. thanks for the ideas. I love to look at your web site.

  • Love the wisk idea..very cute! As far as classes, someone above posted they don’t feel like hey are using their carts to their full potential..I feel the same, esp when it comes to the 3-d things or houses you can cut. I have trouble with some of them, and would love a class on that.
