I just wanted to put up a quick post– a Facebook Friend of mine, was having trouble with the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge. Â So, she wanted me to try the same cut, on my machine–to see if it would work for me…(her mane kept cutting too big)
So, off I went– 🙂
I love being able to help a friend–even if they are far away!
Here is my Create-a-Critter Lion card, with the Pink by Design stamped sentiment from the Rock On set
The lion was cut out at 3 inches, Iink-embossed his mane, and used twine for the “ribbon” and his tail!
Turns out his mane did fit for me…but it goes exactly around his face–w/ no overlap whatsoever. Hope this helped Rebekah!
This is so cute! My husband and I just became FONZ Friends of the National Zoo so we will be going to the zoo quite often. I just love this lion, I am going to save this so I can copy it, thanks so much!
So cute, Sarah! Love the twine and your stamps are so sweet!
Great card! The paper you used on the mane is perfect. so cute!
How cute. I love the way it turned out.
Now here’s a card to roar about! HEHEHEHEHEHE RAWR!

I was having trouble with the Zebra cut the other day…my pieces would just not line up at all. Has this ever happened to anyone? I have seen lots of projects using it and am wondering if I am maybe doing something wrong. Feel free to test again and help me out! 🙂

I love your card. Could you explain what ink-embossing is?
OmaG–Ink embossing is inking up an embossing folder, putting the paper in the folder, and then embossing it with your embossing machine (Cuttlebug for example.) It’s a pretty cool effect. I’ve done it a couple times and the remainder of ink on the embossing folder just rinses right off with tap water. Just make sure to let it dry completely though.
Thank you for the explanation Jann. It looks like I have my project idea for tomorrow.
I’m having a problem with my sizing on the “wild card” cartridge I just bought. I set my sizing which is in inches and it seems to cut closer to centimeters (not exactly right on either). All my other cartridges (and I only have 3 others) have been fine. I wonder if it’s a problem with my machine or my cartridge? Any others know what may be wrong?
I like how you made the twine backing the button look like whiskers! Very cute card.
such a fun card.
