I have been wanting to try the PNC (Print and Cut) feature on the Cameo- but, was putting it off til I got a printer for my craft room.

Well, I finally bought a printer for my craft room when the HP e-prints went on sale at Staples and Target last week. I didn’t need anything fancy- or even a 12×12 printer, because after all, I still have my imagine

My requirements for a printer- was something smallish (it’s taking up valuable craft space), and I preferred it not to make me hook up to it each time–so it needed to be wifi or have e-print. I bought the Photosmart 5510.

It was an easy set up and the wifi works flawlessly. The printing is great, and has separate color cartridges–in case I print a LOT of a certain color….we’ll say…PINK…I’ll just need to replace that specific ink!

Anyway- Turns out the print and cut with the Cameo is EASIER than I thought it would be, and left me speechless with how awesome it worked! Thanks to my friend Rebekah, from Crafty Teacher Mom- who helped me realize it was not as hard as I was trying to make it! She is awesome-and has some pretty awesome Cameo projects on her blog too–you should check her out!

All you do- is set it up on your Silhouette software- click a button to add registration marks, send it to your printer – take it out– load it into the cameo. It detects the registration marks…and BAM cuts exactly where it should!! Ah-MAZ-ING!!!

Sadly, I was running low on plain white card stock–and who wants to use Computer Paper? (Even though Mr. Pink told me it would be good enough!) Ha!

So….I trimmed down some off-white/cream-ish card stock I had to play around Here’s one of the first shapes I print and cut.

The colors are great and look at how perfectly my cut lines up!?!

The sentiment is an oldie but a must-have, from Pink by Design’s Oh Boy!

So…. yeah–I am loving the print and cut so much that I ordered a bunch of white card stock from Amazon the same day! I am going to try different kinds of paper and find out what I like best- even though, honestly I think the off-white paper was pretty good!

ALSO– some of you are already asking–so, I will be doing a video on the Print and Cut in the very near future–so watch for it!

Hey everyone!!

I’ve decided with my new love for my Cameo and SVG files- I would have Free File Fridays- where I give YOU a free file to download! Sounds awesome, right?! I just love being able to share with you all!!

Here’s what I made with the file that you’ll be able to download today!

I used a turquoise frame that I picked up for 4.99 at Target- and then, cut my file in pink paper- and then adhered it to a 5×7 piece of card stock. :) Simple- and it gives me a nice Valentine’s decoration for my living room!

Ready for the file?

I saw somewhere that you can flat-iron braids to create a “Taylor Swift” beachy type wave to your hair- so my daughter, who is a big fan of Taylor Swift was excited to try it!

Here she is with little braid – that have been flat-ironed after they were braided. It made them stay just as if they were hairsprayed!

After they cooled, I undid them- and she LOVED the result!

Beachy waves- or kind of a crimpy look. I twisted 2 sections from the front to get the hair from out of her face. I like to see her pretty face, and not have hair covering it!

We asked her little brother who she looked like, and he said: “Shaggy, from Scooby Doo” –lol, not the answer she was looking for- but, we got a good laugh out of it!

So, you see– I love to ‘play’ with paper and hair, and anything else that lets my creativity flow— what other mediums do you like to create with?

Ps. I also got some paper-crafting and some videos done tonight- but, I am too sleepy to post those!

You’ll see them soon enough…I promise!

I LOVE Target– I love everything about it– the shopping, the atmosphere, the people….

Well, except for last week when this lady behind me, who didn’t use a divider– and put her stuff right next to mine, and got mad at me when one of her things got rung out with my stuff. Literally, she raised her voice and everything. I was kind, and sweet back to her though I didn’t want to be– I was taught to be kind even when people are being hateful. It’s not always easy! Anyway, I digress.

I love Target- I love that there is a Starbucks right inside the door–which probably makes shopping that much more soothing for me….I like their clearance prices- I can always seem to find something awesome at 70% off or more! Yesterday I picked up a cute pair of earrings at 75% off.

Also, like many others- like my friend Liz from 217 Creations, I love their Dollar Spot….which also has a $2.50 section now (I personally think it all should be $1) I tell you all of this- because I picked up this cute mug in the Dollar Spot in the $2.50 section…and thought it would be perfect to decorate.

So, I cut out my initials with Square 1 – my favorite vinyl alternative- and before I cut it, I made sure I cut a little rectangle around my initials so that I wouldn’t have to cut anything out later. I then used the negative space and put it on the mug. After that, I filled it in with paint using a small paint brush. I let it dry a little, and then peeled away the Square 1. So, easy right? And, it made my $2.50 cup look like a million bucks (not literally!)

The trick to making this is to make sure your Square 1 or vinyl is completely flat against the cut- so paint will not leak underneath. But– you can also use a qtip and paint thinner to clean it up a little if you have any slips!

I used FolkArt Enamel paint, by Plaid in Parisian Pink and the font I used is called Fashoion Victim.

I know you know the S H – stands for Sarah Hamer—any guesses on what the E stands for?

Our Little Monster is 5…and he wanted a Monster theme birthday party!!

So here’s a peek at his party!

I loved seeing him get so excited over the homemade goodies and decorations. At one point, I thought– what am I doing? He isn’t going to care if we have monster mouths or party hats—and then a few minutes later he discovered the monster mouths I made along with the party hat–and he had to try them on immediately. He then came running towards me with a hug telling me I was the best mom ever!

Definitely WORTH IT!

First and foremost, Jaxen wanted a Birthday Banner- He’s seen me make them for Thanksgiving and Christmas so he wanted his own Monster Banner. He even knew where he wanted to hang it– so I apologize for the bad lighting.

I used a simple banner shape, in 3 sizes to layer- using American Craft Cardstock and DCWV Celebrations Stack. I made simple scalloped circles and popped them up, and then added the layered letters- also using DCWV Celebrations stack.

My favorite way to connect a banner is to punch holes in the corners and tie each piece to the next piece.

I added a Monster shape at the beginning, middle and end of the banner. I used the monsters from the Lettering Delights Monsters Cut it Shapes

I also made a small banner with my left over pieces

I also made the special boy his own birthday hat- using his favorite colors!

And I thought it would be cute to decorate the straws too!

I just chose shapes and added holes for the straw- then I decorated them with monsters, or the word yum cut out into the shape. The shapes were cut out about 2 – 2.5 inches.

For a cute treat we made m&m sticks, by using 1×8 inch bags from Clearbags.com and topped them with one of our monsters. The birthday boy helped with the googly eyes on the monsters! He loves googly eyes!

I also made Lollipop Holders using this SVG.

The SVG makes 2 sizes of Lollipop holders- 1 is the perfect size for Tootsie Pops and the wider one is perfect for Cake Pops! They come in both the scalloped and the starburst shape! It’s a must have file, because you could adapt it for all kinds of things…baby showers, Valentine’s Day, Birthdays, weddings, etc. Plus they are easy to put together because the score lines are already there for you!

Aren’t they cute??! His friends loved them! You should make some for V-Day

The cupcakes were a big hit- here’s Jaxen picking out which one will be his, after his nap.

Mr. Pink and I decorated them with big marshmallows cut into thirds- small marshmallows, and pull and peel twizzlers. (Plus, we had adult-friendly cupcake w/o marshmallows and candy!)

Oh- I found the little guy’s monster shirt at Target for 9.99

The Monster Mouths were a HUGE hit for adults and kids!

Maybe I laughed a little more than most adults, but I got a kick out them!

These were created using this SVG and were quite simple to put together-

I cut them at about 4-5 inches wide. I used American Crafts Cardstock and DCWV glitter stack.

Here are some of our faces!

Yep, mom had to play too!

Hope you liked our little monster party!!!

Oh, and as promised the winners of the Spellbinders post from last Tuesday are Lisa Frederick and Kimbely Wells who both wrote on the Spellbinders Facebook page.

Hi Everyone!!

I have been playing around on the computer- and playing around with making my own svgs to cut on the Cameo–and having a ball!

I thought it would be fun to see if I could make a custom title, that I’d be able to share with you– :) Isn’t that exciting?

Well–with this title, I put together this SIMPLE but sweet Layout of me and my new 5 year old!

I wanted to add a couple pictures of Jaxen being silly- The top one is one of us, very late at night-when he tiptoed down to see me way after bed time- to some snuggle time with me. It was one of those nights, I won’t ever forget- so please forgive my tired makeup-less face

The other picture is a ‘Classic Jaxen” photo- if he even bothers to look at the camera, I usually get a myriad of silly faces or actions. :)

I used Echo Park paper for the Chevron paper and I used DCWV Coral Couture for the aqua and coral accents.

Okay– are you ready for an SVG for the title on this page? Then you can scrapbook your FUNNY Valentine!

You can add a shadow like I did in my layout and add a couple of hearts too!

Here it is! (just click on the pink button to download)

Also- I can’t wait to show you pictures of Jaxen’s birthday!!

Happy Friday, and a big TGIF!!

Today I have a super quick project for you today- using an SVG file. You could also use any pair of lips on a cartridge you might have. You have to add a small circle to the middle to add a sucker stick– Easy Peasy!

I made enough of these to take to my daughter’s class for Valentine’s Day and I also made some Mustache ones for my son’s class.

I stamped the lips with a sentiment from Say it Sweet and did some quick white pen stitching. My favorite pen to use for white stitching is the white Signo pen.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Don’t forget to link up this week!

Also–to help get you ready for the next holiday– St. Patrick’s Day I am including a free SVG for all of you Cameo users out there!!

The free download is the shape below – Remember, you can only use SVG’s with Make the Cut, Sure Cuts a Lot or another cutter that supports SVG’s like the Silhouette Cameo.
