So, I whipped up this card at the end of the day- I designed the whole thing inside the silhouette program- drawing the triangle for the card, and and polygon for the rind.  Then… I welded 2 triangles together to make the card base, and of course I couldn’t forget the holes for the seeds.   It sounds much harder than it was!

The paper is from Lori Whitlock’s Echo Park Hello Summer, and the sentiment is from PBD Love Always– one that is a must have for all sorts of cards.

I guess I can share this quick photo with you too- taken with Instagram- it’s a project I put together, for a make and take I am doing for my mom’s church this weekend.  It’s a matchbox, with a  necklace card inside- you know the kind that holds a necklace? So– I cut all the pieces for them to put them together this weekend.

Of course, I SAY I crafted all day– but, in truth- you know I am a mom, so I really didn’t craft ALL day-  ;)  We also took the time for Jaxen to catch a frog in the backyard- after we picnicked in our back yard.  (taken with my phone thru the screen)

And- Alexis got all diva-ish- with mom’s sunglasses, earrings and eyeshadow  Though she won’t get to leave the house like this- she felt quite glamourous!

OH! And, I can’t forget- today Jaxen proposed to me with this ring he picked out at Kohl’s- I am LOVIN’ rose gold right now- and he was happy to use the box to propose to his mommy!  (my heart melted) Sorry the photo is blurry, I took it while I was sitting at a red light…

Look at what some of you were up to this past week:

Melissa from My Scrap Hour made some really adorable Mother’s Day cards- you have to click on her link to see the other ones….she did some mismatching of sentiments to make very personalized cards–which I LOVE to do myself!

I’ve had a lovely weekend with my family and my sister- the weather has been perfect, I did some shopping with my little sister, we got our nails and toes done…and then this morning Aunt Bekah and Jaxen brought me donuts- and Alexis gave me a red rose and necklace she made for me.  The kids also picked out the most beautiful looking and sounding wind chimes for me….I’ve been wanting a set, but I wanted them to pick them out for me, so that when I heard them I would always think of my sweet babies….anyway, they did a FABULOUS job picking them out!

We had a picnic lunch at one of our favorite parks- and I got to take pictures of my favorite kiddos– and I even got in a couple of shots thanks to Aunt Bekah.

Here’s a few of the pictures I snapped of the kids–I sure love taking their pictures- but, they don’t like staying still long enough for me to take them!

Next I wanted to share a layout that I LOVE….and to show you that you can totally cross over lines- I used pieces from My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline AND Follow your Heart Be Amazing.  I just tied the colors in using the mat behind the picture and the strips on the corner of the photo.

The flower is prima- the 2 scalloped borders are Tim Holtz vintage lace die- and the quatrefoil strip is my favorite Memory Box die- called Tessatina.  It’s a hard one to find…but, you can find it at this cute little store I found online called Chic and Savvy Crafters which offer free shipping on all of their dies- which makes this MUST- HAVE die only 8.75 with shipping- plus they have super-fast shipping!  Also- they have a Facebook page- if you want to like it!

I chose the white scalloped lace to highlight the white lacey looking border around the page. 

Also, I picked up this cute little paperclip from Melody Ross at Joann’s while I was in Kansas City– love it!

I hope all of the mother’s out there had a beautiful, wonderful day!  Even if you aren’t a mother- you may be a mother to someone- a student, a neighbor, a child at church, a sister, a pet…so Happy Mother’s Day to you too!

And, a VERY special Happy Mother’s Day to my own mom- who has shown me how to love unconditionally, forgive quickly, take joy in the little things, and to indulge my creative side– I love you mom!

Also, a big Happy Mother’s Day to my mother-in-law, for raising such a sweet and loving man- who encourages me in everything I do.  I know it is not always easy to be a mom- and it’s hard to know that you are making all of the right choices for your children– but, when she was raising Mr. Pink–she hit the nail on the head, and I am so very thankful!!

I should warn you that I do NOT have a green thumb- not any shade of green…not olive, not hunter, not spring green…I kill nearly everything I plant.  But, I do love looking at flowers and plants- and I like the idea of them– which makes it PERFECT for me to give them as gifts, giving the plant a MUCH better chance for survival!

So, I went to Lowe’s and browsed the small plants- because I knew I had these cute little terra-cotta pots at home that I picked up at Hobby Lobby on clearance. You could get a set of 6 plants for under $2- a steal! (The last ‘plant’ I bought was a tree, last year–and it was not anywhere near $2)

When you get the plants home (they are already divided- so just section them off, and take enough soil to fill the pot and place the plant.  Super easy- and you’ll barely get dirty!  I had Jaxen help me. It’s good for little boys to see their moms playing in dirt

I then took colored pencils and shortened them (breaking off the bottom half) and sticking the colored pencils into the pots to make a place for the sentiment flags to go. Plus, it looks teacher-y, right? 

I stamped the little banner flags with PBD Our Teachers stamp set (teacher) and the Thankful for U is a SNEAK PEEK of one of the new PBD stamps yet to be released! (Ps. I am in LOVe with this new stamp set)

I remember when I was teaching- was also when I started to drink coffee-  Something about all day with all kinds of children, makes you need a little extra energy- so I turned to tea or coffee.  So, I picked up this little Starbucks insulated cup.  I love these things- and have several at our house.  Reusable, and will keep your drink cold for a long time.  The small ones are about $6- and I filled it with little Starbucks VIA, which are their instant cold coffees.  Then I added a flag/tag that I just hand cut.

The sentiment is actually a combination of 2 sentiments:  The first part is from the PBD Perk Up stamp set,  and the “teacher” part is from the PBD Our Teachers stamp set. 

I also picked up a Starbucks gift card—all while picking myself up a Venti Caramel Macchiato  I cut out a little gift card holder from Lori Whitlock- except it originally had a snowflake on it- so I took it off, and added a little coffee mug instead.

Then I tied some seam binding around it- and let the gift card peek thru- because it matched so well!

Okay…I know you are dying to look at my stamps–if you didn’t see them on Facebook yesterday that is  I saw my friend Liz with these baskets containing almost as many PBD stamps a couple weekends ago- and she told me she got the baskets at Michael’s- so off I went.  I picked up 6 at 40% off, regular priced 5.99 each.  I only chose turquoise and pink- but there were other colors…

Then I measured and made dividers using the silhouette software and cut out a ton of them!  They measure about 5×7 and I could fit 2 on 1 piece of 8.5×11 card stock.

Then I typed out all the PBD stamp set names, and made labels—lots and lots of labels! I printed them, and then cut them out in the Silhouette, with adhesive paper.

Makes it easy to find, because they are all in alphabetical order- and that way I will always know which stamp set I am using

Since I had another basket- I decided to fill it with my Cuttlebug folders.  I use to have them in a binder with photo pages, but I found it too much of a hassle to pull out and flip thru to use- which meant I didn’t use them.  So, with them like this I am hoping I will use them more

If you are thinking of organizing your Pink by Design Stamps this way- send me your email and I can send you the silhouette file with all of the stamp names on it- that you can print and cut.  So, you can be as organized as me!  (the rest of my craft room is NOT this organized)

Okay onto the projects….for this layout I used the Lime Twist collection by My Mind’s Eye- it’s so fun, and perfect for the pictures of my kids!  These pictures were taken at the Kansas City Zoo.

I had not journaled before I took the picture- but I did take the time to stamp You are Elephant-astic from the Pink by Design Jungle Fever stamp set.  I love the colors in this layout!

Next, is a cute little card- using Pink by Design background stamp set called Daisy- and embossing ink and powder.  I love this effect- and you can do it with any of our tile-able background sets!

The sentiment is from PBD Life’s a Garden– which is perfect for this time of year!
Last up is this cute little card using the Lettering Delights Cinco de Mustache SVG set, that I print and cut out using Kodak matte photo paper- to see if the colors would be more vibrant than the other scrapbook paper I had been using.  They were much brighter- but, I don’t like how thin the paper was compared to my American Craft Cardstock.

The Chevron paper is from Echo Park Hello Summer collection- which I LOVE!!  The sentiment is from the PBD BE Mine stamp set– what?! I used a Valentine stamp set in May?!  Yep….PBD stamps- no matter which one can be used for all sorts of things, just have to be open to the possibilities!

Okay- I think I’ve got you caught up!! Today I will be working on reorganizing my stamp sets- I am printing off labels and everything– I can’t wait to show you!
