Engagement Gift

Posted by on Oct 15, 2013 in Cameo, Crafting, Gift ideas, Uncategorized, Vinyl | 4 comments

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!  This past weekend we attended an engagement party, which was coincidentally our first engagement party.  I wasn’t sure what the “rule,” was on gift giving- but, I didn’t want to show up empty-handed.  Which also meant that I would also want to ‘craft’ something for the gift as well. I decided to give small, thoughtful gifts that pertain to getting engaged and planning a wedding. I didn’t get a chance to take a good photo of the gift- but, snapped this quick photo on my iphone.  (Can you see my latte on the left?) The fun snakeskin basket came from Target, and the glass mugs I personalized with glass-etch vinyl.  This is a much quicker way to give a glass-etch look without using the glass etching cream.  They say “Bride” & “Groom”. I included...

Keep Calm

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!  Hope everyone is having a great week!  We are having a heat wave here in Iowa, and it’s been almost unbearable to be outside too long.  I am thankful for air conditioning at home & at the kids’ school.  Not every school has air conditioning around here, so kids have been getting out early, or teachers have resorted to popsicles as well as ice cubes & water during class. Speaking of school I wanted to make some tumblers for my daughter’s teacher and her other 3rd grade teaching team members.  So, I made these KEEP CALM tumblers, quick and they LOVED them.  Now to come up with something cute for my little 1st grader’s teacher!   I really love the purple tumbler for some reason-and I am typically not a purple girl.  You guys...

Using the Silhouette without a Mat

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!  Hope you are having a great week!! I have been doing so good at keeping up with making videos again, and I am quite proud of myself.  I’ve had things that have happened, that made me want to give up- but, I have just tried working through them this last week…and I am so glad I did! Quite a few of you have been asking me how it was possible to use your Silhouette Cameo or Portrait without a mat… So, I am here to tell you that you absolutely can use it without a mat.  But, you  need to be using VINYL- whether it’s regular vinyl or heat transfer vinyl like I will be using in the vinyl, it will work.  That’s because you are only ‘kiss’ cutting the material, so it doesn’t...

Some Baby Gifts

Posted by on Jun 19, 2013 in Cameo, Crafting, Gift ideas, Uncategorized, Vinyl | 6 comments

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!  Seems like there are babies popping up everywhere these days-and I love to make baby gifts! Here are a few things I made recently using Heat Transfer Vinyl and my Silhouette Cameo. This was a request from my good friend for her husband for his very first Father’s Day.  I LOVE, love, LOVE using Glitter HTV!   This little brown and orange onesie was made for a crafty friend who was due on the very same day as me, but had her baby  boy much closer to our due date, than I did!  (The pink one in the picture is for another friend- but, she hasn’t gotten it yet…so I will leave it a secret for now) And, finally I made this for my little guy–mostly because I thought it would be super funny!...

Happy Monday (Lots of Pictures)

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! This past weekend we did a little fun online baby shower- and Jessica from Homespun Elegance and Julie from 3 Girl Jam came to help with the Ustream. They made fun decorations using the files from Lettering Delights- My mom & Sister made it too- Julie did a project online with everyone– a sweet and easy basket to use for any sort of occasion. Jess had the most fun bringing attention to my huge baby bump- and we even did a measuring game with the people online! After things settled down- Julie, Jess and I had the chance to craft a little. I decided to play with some heat transfer vinyl– and made these things. This one is for me-not that I’m a big drinker usually, but I do enjoy a nice glass of...

Chubby Cheeks

Posted by on Apr 2, 2013 in Crafting, Gift ideas, Uncategorized, Vinyl | 12 comments

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!  Today I have a special little project for one of the cutest chubby cheek boys around.  This is my friend Paula from More than Favors little guy, Jude.  Don’t you just want to squeeze those little chubby cheeks? Well, with all my latest onesie projects- Paula needed a shirt for her little guy- so I asked her if she wanted a shirt with a tie on it or a shirt with a mustache on it, because she LOVES the mustache trend.  She said mustache–and came up with the saying.  So I went to work, designing the shirt with my Silhouette Cameo, and cutting it out using heat transfer vinyl in light blue and orange. Isn’t that the perfect shirt for Jude?  Now, even as tempting as those cheeks are to pinch….this shirt should ward...
