Engagement Gift

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!  This past weekend we attended an engagement party, which was coincidentally our first engagement party.  I wasn’t sure what the “rule,” was on gift giving- but, I didn’t want to show up empty-handed.  Which also meant that I would also want to ‘craft’ something for the gift as well. I decided to give small, thoughtful gifts that pertain to getting engaged and planning a wedding. I didn’t get a chance to take a good photo of the gift- but, snapped this quick photo on my iphone.  (Can you see my latte on the left?) The fun snakeskin basket came from Target, and the glass mugs I personalized with glass-etch vinyl.  This is a much quicker way to give a glass-etch look without using the glass etching cream.  They say “Bride” & “Groom”. I included...

Halloween Onesie

Hi everyone and Happy Monday!  Hope you had a beautiful weekend!  We had family photos here, which was a bit of a crazy affair–but, we got it done. This past week I decided to make Grayson a Halloween onesie.  I used my Cameo to cut out this cute ghost figure out of white minky fabric.  The ghost is from PPbN Designs, that I bought in the Silhouette store.  It cut so much nicer than I thought it would.  Remember, when you want to cut fabric- you need to use Heat n’ Bond to stabilize the fabric.  It also allows you to iron your fabric onto your onesie, if you don’t want to sew it on. I chose to sew the ghost on- using my sewing machine.  Then I cut out his name using a Halloween argyle fabric I picked...

Fall Decor for Teachers

Posted by on Sep 24, 2013 in Cameo, Crafting, Gift ideas, Uncategorized | 0 comments

I wanted to make the kids’ teachers a fun Fall decor piece for their doors.  I had thought about it a little, and then I came across these festive garland pumpkins at the Dollar Spot in Target.  I knew I’d just have to add the teacher’s name to make a quick gift. So, I enlisted the help of the kids to pick out card stock and glue letters on.  Then they got to see how my laminating machine worked!  Of course then they were flooded with ideas for bookmarks and other projects that they could make with the laminating machine! The kids picked black and orange card stock, and we wound up cutting the names out at about 12 inches long.  After they used the Xyron sticker machine to adhere the letters to the shadow, we put them thru...

Hi everyone and Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  We had a fun weekend here- Mr. Pink and Jaxen went to Jaxen’s first Nebraska Huskers football game.  They had an amazing time. While they were in Nebraska, my sister came up and the girls hung out all day along with baby Grayson.  We did some craft shopping, crafting, regular shopping & swimming. Sunday was a day our family just hung out at home and kept it very low key. But, throughout the weekend, I did get to start some projects that I want to work on in the next few weeks and I completed a project I’ve been wanting to do for awhile. Here’s a stack of projects I’m working on- most of these are already and cut & pinned. They just need sewn. But,...

“Surprise…there’s a Baby Shower”

Posted by on Aug 29, 2013 in Cameo, Crafting, Gift ideas, Uncategorized | 6 comments

Hi everyone and Happy Thursday!  Yesterday was an early out for the kiddos- so I took them to the pool to beat this hot week.  The water felt great!  Here’s Alexis peeking at me, and the only picture I got of the swimming action, since I couldn’t have my camera when I was in with Grayson & Jaxen. Then last night, when Mr. Pink got home and things settled down (when the kids went to bed and dishes got done) he said, “Oh, hey…there’s a baby shower for  [insert important work related name here] tomorrow night.” Umm…there is?  Apparently, he forgot to tell me.  But, you know as well as I do I wasn’t going to be able to show up at a baby shower without something I made!  Especially, because this same woman saw the awesome football blanket...

Keep Calm

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!  Hope everyone is having a great week!  We are having a heat wave here in Iowa, and it’s been almost unbearable to be outside too long.  I am thankful for air conditioning at home & at the kids’ school.  Not every school has air conditioning around here, so kids have been getting out early, or teachers have resorted to popsicles as well as ice cubes & water during class. Speaking of school I wanted to make some tumblers for my daughter’s teacher and her other 3rd grade teaching team members.  So, I made these KEEP CALM tumblers, quick and they LOVED them.  Now to come up with something cute for my little 1st grader’s teacher!   I really love the purple tumbler for some reason-and I am typically not a purple girl.  You guys...
