Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday! Last night I got to play in my craft room for a bit while my little peanut snuggled in my baby wrap. I played with the newly updated DCWV Citrus Stack & the Pink by Design Birthday, Birthday stamp set. I used these 2 items to make all 3 cards.
I was really in need of some Birthday cards–and this stamp set is awesome to fit whatever mood you’re feeling when you’re making a birthday card.
The colors in the newly updated Citrus Stack are GORGEOUS! Bright and cheery–so I knew they’d be perfect for some birthday cards–I wanted to make several, so I kept these cards pretty simple.
For this card- I cut a strip of pretty patterned paper- and then cut it in half- and rounded the corners. Adhered leaving a space for the sentiment. I used my favorite Close to my Heart ink in Sunset to stamp the sentiment.
For the next card, I used patterned paper for the bottom half of the card. Then, I punched a couple circles from a contrasting paper, and then cut them in half. I adhered those in place to look like a banner- added some twine and gemstones. Super simple, but I love it.
For the sentiment I used 2 ink colors. I inked the entire sentiment in the CTMH Honey Ink and then just inked the edges of the sentiment in HollyHock before I pressed the sentiment onto my card. I love how summery this effect looks!
The last card I matted with the patterned pink paper from the DCWV Citrus Stack, and then I punched a bunch of hearts using a variety of the patterned paper from the stack.
I arranged the hearts randomly, and then stuck them down with small Zots–because it was easier and my peanut was starting to stir a little. I left a place for my sentiment to nestle down in the hearts- and I used one of my favorite ink colors ever…Juniper.
Don’t you like how the different fonts of the sentiments help make the card? Now, to find some time to sneak into my craft room today…Grayson doesn’t seem to mind as long as he’s snuggled in! And best of all–I am getting ahead on Birthday Cards!!
Have a great Wednesday everyone and if you haven’t linked up your recent projects–don’t forget to do so here.
