Beachy Birthday Party

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday!  It’s been a great day here, as we celebrated our daughter’s 7th birthday (she turns 7 on Wednesday).  Both of our kids have winter or spring birthdays, so it’s never been possible to plan an outdoor party- let alone a swimming party.  But. this year- we decided to have a party at an indoor pool- since both of the kids LOVE water! The place where we had it, said most people don’t ‘decorate,’ but you know that would never work for me– so I made fun things to make the party seem a little beachier than an indoor pool.  The kids had a BLAST- and mommy and daddy were WORN OUT! Thankfully grandma and papaw came to help keep an eye on all the kiddos.     Jaxen helped me make these cute little...

Etched Floating Frame

Posted by on Apr 27, 2012 in Cameo, Crafting, Cricut, Decor, Gift ideas, Uncategorized, Vinyl | 14 comments

Hi everyone and Happy Friday!  First, I wanted to let you know that Jaxen’s little hospital visit and minor surgery went well- he was back to himself in just a few short hours after he woke up from the anesthesia.  Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers! I also have this floating frame that I bought from Joann’s or half off- which made it $10.  It is 16×20, and when I bought it, I kind of knew what I wanted to do with it- but, wasn’t 100% sure.  I knew I wanted to use etching vinyl- which is vinyl, that is crystal like, so it gives an awesome etched glass look when it’s applied to glass.  Love this stuff- because etching cream can be finicky.   I wanted to not only personalize it with our last name- but...

Hey everyone and Happy Thursday!   Guess what?  I have another layout for you today– I know I must be sick to have all these layouts… I promise, I will get better about doing layouts! This paper is the gorgeous Echo Park Victorian Garden- the letters are from Tim Holtz Vintage Market letter die, and the music notes at the bottom are Music Notes border die (I made up that name…I couldn’t find the real name!)  I love how I can quickly send them thru my Vagabond, and have instant die cuts.  The butterflies are from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge cut on Elizabeth from 217 Creations mini. (ps.  I think all my vagabond-ing convinced my sweet friend Jess to get a Big Shot and Liz to get a Vagabond soon…and no I am not an enabler) lol The...

Laughing layout

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday!   I have a darling layout for you today that I made at the crop this past weekend.  I know it is crazy to think I actually cropped at a crop! Ha! Most of the time there is just a lot of talking ;).   Now…who’s ready for the project?  I feel like I haven’t posted in forever!!   At the crop, I actually worked on several layouts- which I desperately need to catch up on.   This one is of my sweet daughter laughing- I used the purple in her outfit to choose the colors of the paper. The blue flower was cut using the Tattered flowers die by Tim Holtz, and felt. The layered white flower on top of that one is muslin also cut with the same die. The other 2...
