So…I’ve been promising many of you that I would start making some videos with my Silhouette Cameo-
Ooooh…before I forget– some of you have also asked me–what is a Cameo?
Well, Silhouette has been around awhile–with their SD machine- but, just this last fall (we are talking LATE October/Early November) they came out with a re-vamped machine that can cut 12×12 which was never possible with their SD machine. It does not use cartridges- only files and software. You can use their free software OR you can use Make the Cut or SCAL. (I am sure you’ve heard that crazy little term floating around…SVG….it can cut those too!)
Anyway- this isn’t a traditional video of the project, but it does give you a look at the Silhouette software. And, I promise my next video will have me working with the actual machine!
Oh….and ps the Cameo program it is free for anyone- even if you don’t have the machine yet but want to look around. 🙂 Here’s a link to download it if you want to see how it works- it is Mac and Pc compatible. And, they have their own little library of files where pretty much everything is 99 cents.
So here’s a little peek at the program.
After- that I plugged it into my computer, loaded my paper and clicked cut on my screen. 🙂
Wanna see the earring cards all cut out?
(I did 2 different kinds)
I literally took those earrings out of my ears- just for the pictures 😉 😉
The card stock is from the DCWV downtown loft stack.
very cute!! Would be great to make for a jewelry show or craft fair!
Love these! If you ever decide to sell them, please let me know!
Super Cute!
I really hope I get a Cameo for my birthday! 🙂
OMG – I got a Cameo for Christmas! Will you be doing some tutorials or showing more projects with it? I LOVE it! I will still use my Expression, of course, but boy – this has SO many options on what I can do with it. My hubby ROCKS for giving me this wonderful gift! How did you make the earring cards? I’d love to make them, cause I make jewelry at home.
Man now I really want one!!! Ughhhh I’m so jealous! Maybe I should sell some of my cricut stuff!!!
They are great and I just LOVE that card stock! 🙂
Hi….I’m new to your site. Love the Earring cards you designed. Do you offer your designs anywhere either for sale or freebies. Thank You ! Great Job !
O these are so pretty!! I really should look into to buying this machine!! I really want to beable to cut SVG files so I may have to sell a machine that i have!!
What a great idea! I have made earrings in the past and this would have been perfect. Love your earrings too. Can’t wait to see what you show us with the Cameo.
Great little earring holders! Thanks for the review of the Cameo- I have been looking at other machines- right now I just have the expression w/the SCAL 2 version so I can cut SVG but it is an older machine and I’m afraid when I need a new one my SCAL won’t be compatible with the newer expression- so I might need to switch! :)Amy
These are beautiful Sarah! So happy you had this today, as I got the Cameo for Christmas & was going to open it up today!!! Thrilled that they have a file like this, since I make jewelry!
Puppy Hugs,
Wendy
