The North Pole

Okay–I have a project for you today…but, I would much rather show you some pictures from our evening last night!  I promise I will show you a project tomorrow We took the kids on a train ride, “The Santa Express,” to the “North Pole.”  It was fashioned after the popular book and movie “The Polar Express.” The kids wore their jammies, we sang Christmas carols,  they served us cookies and hot cocoa–and we saw Santa- who passed out jingle bells! Unfortunately, my camera was being difficult with the harsh lighting and reflections– so I finally handed it to Mr. Pink who also struggled.  But, I wanted to share some pics with you nonetheless Be sure to mouse over each picture to see the captions- and thanks for letting me share our night with you!  ...

Bathroom Art

That sounds like it could be dangerous- But, I assure you there was nothing of the sort. When we repainted our main level (all but my scrap space)- we also painted our half bathroom from a sage green to the Vanilla Steam–so my happier, brighter walls needed some love too– Plus, I’ve just been on a HUGE wall-art kick! I used Square 1 Printable Wall Decor- which is actually a printable adhesive fabric- to make these designs. I cut them out with my Cricut Imagine, which also printed the solid color on them, to get an exact match to what I needed! Isn’t that nice, to have ANY COLOR you want for wall art? I made the file in my Gypsy, by just choosing different fonts, and stacking the phrases on top of one another- I used Carousel for...

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with your family and friends–and had time to eat and hug on those you love! While my family was here- my mom and sister joined me in my craft room to play a little! I had seen this cute tutorial on a diorama-on childmadetutorials using a glove to make snowmen...and I wanted to give it a try! You can click the link to see more examples of similar projects I took a frame I picked up at the Dollar Tree that was made like a shadow box- it doesn’t say ‘shadow box’ on the frame…but you can tell by the depth of the frame, that it can be used as a shadow box frame.   I then took gloves also from the Dollar Tree and cut across the bottom...

I am not sure why I feel the need to countdown for you all–I think it’s for me mainly–to remind myself I only have 1 more days to get those pies made… I just can’t seem to stop playing with paper instead! But, I have to–because my mom and sister came into town yesterday night–and there are more coming today and tonight….I need to clean, and bake, and…so on…. But…I was really feeling bad that Thanksgiving gets often overlooked–that I decided to make a banner for the mantle.  My sister and mom were in the craft room helping too! My sister made a menu frame, along with a pumpkin, and some treat boxes that I will share later today– My mom hand-stitched the banner before we got distracted with some other SUPER CUTE projects that I cannot share just...
