Halloween Treats

First of all, I wanted to update you all on my little guy’s first day of Preschool!

He did great, no tears or no asking me to please stay.  He said he had a perfect day, and made a friend, though he couldn’t remember his friend’s name! 🙂  (Is that important?  I mean he probably thinks his mom’s name is Pink Cricut!)

Anyway- he had a good time, and I held it together pretty well- though, I will always remember that sweet, wonderful hug I got when he saw me walking towards the door to pick him up.  He started to run towards me, ran and jumped in my arms and gave me the biggest squeeze ever.  It was like we had been gone from each other for 3 weeks instead of 3 hours and it made me the happiest momma on the earth! 🙂

Onto craftier things…(thank you for letting me share about the most important part of my life- my family)

Well…I was so excited to make something with my Gypsy yesterday–since I spent so long (about 2 hours) uploading all of my cartridges to it….

But, as soon as I went to cut, it quit on me…apparently it wasn’t my Gypsy afterall-but, my E2. Bummer.

Luckily, Provocraft thinks they know what is wrong and should be able to fix it– keep your fingers crossed…and your toes too for me!

So- no Cricut today…here are the things I used:

Stampin’ Up 2 part Owl Punch, 2.5 inch scalloped circle punch, 2 inch circle punch, Versafine black ink (I’ve somehow misplaced my black memento), pop dots of some sort and Pink by Design Ghostly Greetings, and Vintage Halloween Crinkle Ribbon! Here’s what I made–aren’t they cute?!  I punched the owl out with white paper, and then turned him upside down and cut off his little tootsies.  Then I punched him out in black, so I could have 2 little black eyes for each of the little ghosts.

I also punched the circles out in orange and black paper–stamping sentiments on the orange paper and adhering together.

Then, I used my crop-a-dile (Did I tell you how much I love having a handheld crocodile instead of just the Big Bite?)  to punch a hole through my little tags- and pop-dotted the ghosts onto the tags.  I tied some Halloween crinkle ribbon through the holes and around then test tubes of candy corn!

I love these little test tubes–and have had them for quite awhile–I picked them up from my LSS, Memory Bound-and knew I wanted to use them– now I have to go pick up a few more! 😉

Quick, fun and cute–perfect for those Halloween classroom parties this year- or office parties!

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

PS.  Pink by Design Fan Flash Friday is going to be a special one this week– it falls on Mr. Pink’s birthday so it needs to be a birthday themed project–maybe even a card for him! 🙂 shh…don’t tell him!   (Remember, Fan Flash Friday is held on the Pink by Design Facebook page)

  2. That’s soo sweet to hear about your little guy going off to school! Hold on to those moments as they grow up way too quick!!! My little, little guy is now a junior in military school, I still get the hugs, but no running. 🙂 Anyway, always happy to hear about family!
Your project is really cute, great idea with the owl punch! Wish Michaels or AC Moore sold those little vials!
    Puppy Hugs!

  3. Candy Corn…yummy! Love the project! Super cute treat ideas for school! Glad your son had a great day at preschool. My kids never remember anyones name on their first day either. I asked Josh (my 4th grader) if he had made any friends and he said yeah, but forgot who it was. 😀 And no worries about sharing about family…they are my most important thing too. 🙂

  4. Oh girls…thanks so much for sharing your family with us. My husband and I are recent empty nesters. I have so many fond memories of those preschool days with my two boys. They are all grown up, where did those days go???

  5. Your Kids are Adorable. Thanks for Sharing with us. My Husband and I went to eat Lunch with our Grandson today (Grand Parents Day)! He just started Kindergarten. I made him a Tag and he found it in his Lunch Box. Love your little Halloween Treats. I have that Owl Punch. I Love It! Thanks! :0)

  6. Cute project…I like how the owl can be a ghost. I hope you did as well as the preschooler…it has been a while since you have been home to craft alone! Sorry to hear your Cricut is not well. Hope they can find the trouble soon.

  7. They are absolutely adorable and just enough candy not to be junky. Some alternative trick-or-treat items you can give

gently used books – yours or you can buy at your local Friends of the Library sale
Mini comics you can buy from comic stores
    $1 comics from various stores
$1 coupons from any Eco-friendly store
Surf Sweets – sugar free candy – really yummy candy
Make crafts with your kids and hand those out
Have a Halloween yard party where you decorate your yard and then have a photo booth set up and email the photo directly to their parent(s)
