Happy Thursday everyone!
A few weeks ago- I showed you a layout I did of my grandfather on my mother’s side– but today I wanted to show you another page I have done–of my grandfather on my dad’s side.
I am so excited to be documenting all of these old pictures to show my kids and grandkids one day. This grandfather- I don’t remember well– I was only 1 when he passed away- but, I still treasure the stories I hold of him.
I have to admit- while doing this layout– I actually got a little choked up– and I was reminded why I got into scrapbooking in the first place. Sometimes, those words that choke us up–are exactly the words we need to be writing down for our loved ones down the line to read-and feel. It gives them a tiny, little piece of us– and that is important.
So, I encourage you to take the time to journal- and really allow yourself to say the things you want or need to say.
I used Bo Bunny Mama-razzi, as well as some Basic Grey Basic White and Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk.
I added my own postcard with journaling alongside the G45 postcard- using the Pink by Design PostCard Stamp set.
I also used a Stampin’ Up border punch, some round letter stickers and a little ribbon and lace from my stash. I attached the ribbon with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher–I LOVE THAT THING!!
I also chose to add more journaling on another postcard stamped paper- behind the main picture. The journaling can be pulled out easily with the attached ribbon, even when the page is in the scrapbook- if the opening of the page protector is at the top! 🙂
Ps. in case you were wondering– my Dad is the one on the bottom left 😉
Remember- if you haven’t entered your Cricut Lite Reward points this month– do so now–they are worth double in the month of JUNE–and June is almost over!
Have a great day everyone!
