Welcome to Alina’s Celebrations of the Heart Blog Hop and another Stamptastic Tuesday!
If you are hopping, you should have come here from Gloria’s Goofy Craft Spot
Today, I will be featuring the stamp set, Feelin’ Groovy
To fit, Alina’s sweet blog hop theme-of making something for a loved one, I made this card for my “true love.” He is my strength, he loves me at my best and at my worst- and he encourages me to create–what’s not to love about that?
I love vintage postcards- and this girl was found in the Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk, stack- I imagine these types of postcards being sent to soldiers during the Vietnam war- from their girlfriends and wives at home. So, though my husband is not a soldier– I still thought this card would be perfect for him!
The aqua paper is also from the On the Boardwalk stack, I added tulle and a hatpin, along with 3 adhesive backed pearls. I scissor-distressed all edges. To get a duo color with my sentiment- I stamped it in aqua first, wiping off the ink on the word ‘love’ before stamping- and then I inked the same sentiment in a bronze color, wiping off the other part of the sentiment before stamping. You can also mask off with tape or paper– but, I find this a nice quick (er…lazy) way to get the same effect.
Don’t forget!
Meriah and Paula both have a project using the Feelin’ Groovy Stamp Set today too- so be sure to check out their blogs!!
And, the best news is–Feelin’ Groovy is part of the 12 for $10 sale– Find more information HERE about that!

LOL, your imagining about how that postcard reached a veteran is spot-on. My Mom & Dad have been married 60 years this September, and she tells the story about when Dad was away fighting the war, she posed for a similar sort of pin-up picture. She was wearing a “skimpy” bathing suit (HA! not compared to the REAL skimpy of today!!) but posed behind a very large hat. She sent the print to my Dad. Dad wrote back “horrified” that Mom would pose “naked” for ANYONE! Turns out, none of the swimsuit was showing, so it looked like she was nude. Happy anniversary to you and Mr. PinkCricut.
