Back to School Blog Hop

If you missed us yesterday…welcome to the Back to School Blog Hop!  We are so glad you are joining us!! If you are here again–hop through anyway, and make sure you didn’t miss anything!  There are 10 other FABULOUS blogs on the hop with tons to see and learn…and of course… you can still enter to win some awesome BLOG CANDY!

I also wanted to tell you about another Back to School Blog Hop going on today and for the next 4 days! 🙂 These 5 awesome ladies (Georgiana, Dorcas, Cheryl, Jen and Carri) will have a different project for you, for 5 days–that means 25 projects!! 🙂 You can start that blog hop with  Georgiana at Carson’s Cricut Creations

Okay– Sit back, get your mouse clicking finger ready–and HAVE FUN!

Being a “retired” teacher–I have always been excited for school to start–but, this will be the first year I am actually sending one of my babies to school-so, it is extra-special for me!!

In preparing for school- a big chore has been finding the “RIGHT” backpack.  You wouldn’t think this would be a difficult decision for a 5 year old, but I guess it is hard to choose between characters, or patterns and colors.

We have not found the PERFECT backpack yet–so, I thought it would be fun to make my daughter a mini-album in the shape of a backpack in celebration of this BIG EVENT in her life!

The front of the backpack

Side view

Backpack including ribbon straps

The front flap opens to reveal two hidden pockets

The first pocket has, crayons cut from A Child’s Year– and a Crayon box using a welded rectangle and circle.  I also used the gel pen kit to write CRAYOLA across the box of crayons.

The second pocket, has an Apple for the Teacher :)
When you open the Big Flap, the rest of the album can be seen, starting with this first page- A Cut Above the Rest sentiment comes from Pink by Design, Simply Everything Stamp set, and the Scissors come from Dreams Come True cartridge. The 2nd page says Back to School, and is from the Designer’s Calendar Cartridge The 3rd page, has an A + cut  can be made from any font cartridge, and the sentiment: You make the Grade is also from the Simply Everything Stamp set.
The last page, has the school bus from Doodlecharms, and Kindergarten is written out using those handy little gel pens!
