Cuttlebug and Big Shot Sandwich Cheat Sheet
Although I use a Big Shot to do all of my embossing– I know some of you use the Cuttlebug. But, sometimes, it is hard to figure out just the right “sandwich.”
So, I decided to make up a little chart, a cheat sheet if you will, to help you out– in building your sandwich, whether you use the Cuttlebug or the Big Shot!

Keep in mind–it is always better to start out with less of a sandwich and add to it–whether it is another plate or a shim–you never want to force your favorite embossing tool, too much! I have heard of plates breaking–although it has never happened to me. If this does happen, don’t worry too much–they are all replaceable!! And, if there are any on here that you don’t see–let me know and I would be happy to add them!

thanks for that i got the bigshot express but cant find anything like this for it so at the moment im still using my cuttlebug for nesties and thin dies to scared to try anything myself incase i break it

This is great, I misplace the other one I had. I also broke my first Cuttlebug trying to CRAM to much through it.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’ve always stuck with my Cuttlebug dies and folders as that’s the equipment I’ve got, but have recently received both Nestabilities and Sizzix products. Now I can use them!!
I am in the process of deciding if I really ‘need’ a Big Shot, I have had a cuttle bug for ages & use it with much success. Your sandwich for the Big Shot is great, thank you, it is now printed out waiting for me to make my final decision.

for the cuttle bug instead of using paper shim or plumers Gasket in the UK we have now got something called a no shim mat it’s brilliant and can be used with all the old metal embossing dies and anything that needs some paper shim once you have tried it you wouldn’t be with out it honestly
